Project Overview

The Doak Field Baseball Renovation was a $15 million upgrade to North Carolina State University's storied athletic facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. The multi-phase, multi-building project encompassed approximately 12,400 SF of new and renovated space, including an indoor batting and pitching lab, team lounge and locker room improvements, and refreshed fan experience amenities such as new seating, concessions, restrooms, shade structures, and premium entertainment areas. Active coordination with NC State Athletics and Baseball Operations throughout occupied renovation phases added complexity to the pursuit. The client engaged PRESWERX to build the visual storytelling, presentation, and coaching materials needed for the selection process.

Client Challenges

Communicating the complexity of a multi-phase occupied renovation in a competitive university athletics market demanded a disciplined pursuit strategy:

  • Translating a technically layered scope, with coordination across active athletic operations, into one cohesive pursuit narrative

  • Visualizing design quality in spaces that would transform significantly before construction began

  • Preparing the team to perform with confidence and consistency in a live interview setting

Each challenge pointed to the same need: pursuit materials that matched the caliber of the facility and the expectations of NC State Athletics.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX produced a complete set of pursuit materials for the Doak Field renovation. Architectural renderings brought the proposed batting and pitching lab, locker room upgrades, and fan amenity improvements to life beyond what static drawings could convey, giving the review committee a clear picture of the finished facility. Animations illustrated how construction would unfold across an occupied site in multiple phases, helping reviewers understand the scope without getting lost in technical detail. PRESWERX also developed and rehearsed the full interview presentation with the client's team, sharpening messaging and preparing them for the demands of the live selection format.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX approached the pursuit by building every deliverable around the story the client needed to tell:

  • Developed renderings that captured both the athletic performance spaces and the fan experience improvements in a single, cohesive visual language

  • Produced animations that made the phased, occupied construction sequence legible to a non-technical review audience

  • Coached the client's team through the full presentation, drilling message clarity and preparing them for the pace and pressure of a live interview

The combined package gave the team a clear, confident story and the rehearsal time to deliver it with conviction.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a complete pursuit package calibrated to the visual and strategic expectations of a flagship university athletics project:

  • Renderings gave the review committee a vivid picture of the renovated facility, reducing interpretive risk in the evaluation

  • Animations made the phased, occupied construction sequence accessible to a non-technical audience without oversimplifying the scope

  • Presentation coaching unified the team's narrative and sharpened delivery, ensuring the people matched the quality of the materials

The client entered selection day with a polished, cohesive package that clearly communicated their capability and their vision for Doak Field.
