Project Overview

The School Board of Sarasota County pursued an $85 million construction management contract for a new K-8 school at Clark and Lorraine in Sarasota, Florida, designed to accommodate 1,500 student stations. The facility was built on a prototype K-8 concept with a programmatic emphasis on STEAM and Robotics, aiming to deliver a complete educational environment that would serve the community for generations. With a target completion date of August 2024, the project demanded a construction manager with both the capacity to execute on schedule and the vision to bring a specialized learning environment to life. The client engaged PRESWERX to develop the proposal, renderings, animations, and a presentation with coaching for the competitive CM selection.

Client Challenges

Competing for a new K-8 school built around a specialized STEAM and Robotics program required more than a standard qualifications package:

  • Communicating genuine understanding of a prototype school concept still in final programming, where the evaluation panel was looking for a CM partner capable of shaping the design as much as executing it.

  • Visualizing a facility that did not yet exist, using renderings and animations to give the district a compelling picture of what the completed school would look and feel like for students and families.

  • Differentiating in a competitive CM selection where K-12 experience was table stakes, and the margin between finalists would come down to vision, trust, and presentation quality.

  • Preparing the team to deliver a live presentation that matched the ambition of a district investing $85 million in a school designed to anchor STEAM and Robotics education for the county.

The pursuit called for materials and a team delivery that could match the district's ambition for this school.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX developed a full pursuit package for the K-8 School at Clark and Lorraine, covering every stage of the selection process. The team wrote and designed a proposal that framed the client's construction management approach around the school's specific programmatic goals, emphasizing their capacity to partner through design and deliver on a tight August 2024 schedule. High-fidelity renderings brought the prototype school concept to life before programming was finalized, giving the district a vivid sense of the environment the team would build. Animated sequences reinforced the design vision and highlighted key spaces tied to the STEAM and Robotics program. PRESWERX then built and coached the live presentation, preparing the team to speak with confidence and clarity through the full selection interview.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX approached this pursuit around the district's core aspiration: a school that would genuinely transform how students in Sarasota County engage with science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Every deliverable was built to show a team that understood that goal and was ready to help achieve it.

  • Developed proposal narrative and visual assets that connected the client's CM methodology directly to the demands of a prototype STEAM and Robotics school, rather than defaulting to generic K-12 experience statements.

  • Produced renderings and animations calibrated to make the prototype concept feel real and desirable to a school board audience responsible for community investment at this scale.

  • Coached the team to lead with educational outcomes and community impact, framing construction management expertise as the means to an end the district genuinely cared about.

The result was a pursuit package that positioned the client as a CM partner invested in the school's mission, not just its completion date.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a complete proposal, visual, and presentation package suited to the demands of an $85 million K-8 school pursuit with a specialized educational program.

  • The proposal positioned the client's CM approach in direct relation to the STEAM and Robotics program, making qualifications feel purposeful rather than generic.

  • Renderings and animations gave the district a compelling visual of the finished school, building confidence in the team's ability to realize the prototype concept at the quality the community expected.

  • Presentation coaching prepared the team to deliver a unified, student-focused narrative that held up through the full interview and reinforced their credibility as a long-term district partner.

The client entered the selection fully prepared, with a pursuit package that reflected the care and ambition Sarasota County was putting into this school.
