Project Overview

The Orange County Hamlin Water Reclamation Facility delivered a new 5.0 MGD treatment plant for the Orange County Board of County Commissioners in Winter Garden, Florida. The $110.6 million project encompassed a full treatment train, including preliminary treatment with screening, grit, and odor control, an activated sludge system with BNR and diffused aeration, secondary clarifiers, tertiary filters, a chlorine contact tank, chemical feed and storage systems, sludge holding and thickening equipment, and a 5 million gallon ground storage tank, along with 3,600 linear feet of off-site force main and an $8 million master pump station. With a highly technical treatment process to explain to a public commission, the client needed visuals that could make the plant's design and function clear. PRESWERX partnered with the client's team to produce that visualization.

Client Challenges

Presenting a complex water reclamation facility to a public commission required translating a dense treatment process into something a non-technical audience could follow:

  • Explaining how more than a dozen interconnected systems, from preliminary treatment to the master pump station, functioned as one treatment train.

  • Making an unbuilt facility and its off-site force main and pump station tangible before construction began.

  • Standing out in a competitive bid for a major public infrastructure contract.

Together, these challenges called for visuals that turned technical plant design into a clear, understandable story.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX produced a complete set of renderings and animations for the pursuit, translating a highly technical treatment process into a clear visual story for the selection committee. The renderings depicted the full facility, including the preliminary treatment structure, activated sludge train, secondary clarifiers, tertiary filters, chemical feed systems, and the ground storage tank, alongside the off-site master pump station and its electrical building and odor control system. The animations moved viewers through the facility's process flow, showing how wastewater progressed from preliminary treatment to final discharge. Together, the deliverables turned an intricate treatment process into a visual narrative a non-technical audience could follow.

PRESWERX Approach

With a highly technical treatment process and no built facility to reference, PRESWERX built the pursuit around visual clarity and sequence.

  • Rendered each major system, from the preliminary treatment structure to the master pump station, to its finished level of detail.

  • Built animations that followed the treatment process step by step, from influent to discharge.

  • Presented the off-site force main and pump station as part of one connected system rather than a separate project.

The result was a set of visuals that made a complex treatment plant easy to understand.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a full set of renderings and animations built to the standard of a major public infrastructure selection process.

  • The renderings gave the commission a finished view of the treatment train, storage tank, and master pump station.

  • The animations walked viewers through the full treatment process from influent to discharge.

  • The visuals turned a technically dense facility into a story a public commission could follow.

The client's team walked into the selection process with a clear, finished picture of the facility to support their story.
